Enjoy private, specialized tours that go beyond the surface. On MOEWE tours you can meet Bizen pottery masters and take part in hands-on workshops. All tours are limited to a small group of people, ensuring every experience feels personal and every conversation stays real. Tours are available in English and French. An example full-day schedule for experiencing Bizen pottery (7~8 hours): 9:00 - Meeting at Imbe Station 9:05 - Visit the Bizen City Museum (Learn about Bizen ware, the different techniques of firing, the history & more…) 10:00 - Bizen ware workshop (Make your own Bizen ware piece(s) that will be fired and shipped to you!) 12:30 - Lunch at a local restaurant. 13:30 - Visit the Bizen ware galleries in Imbe and find your favorite pieces (I can also book an appointment with a specific artist if you’d like to spend some time and ask specific questions). We can also visit a traditional kiln to learn about firing techniques. 15:00 - Coffee/tea break in a local cafe, served in traditional Bizen ware. 16:00 - Visit Amatsu shrine, which uniquely incorporates local Bizen ware into its roof tiles, guardian dogs, and stone paths. Half-day version are also available, for approximately 4 hours. Full-day and Half-day tours should start between 9am and 10am.

Additional Terms and Limitations
Can be booked with two weeks notice, however a month in advance is ideal for ensuring that the best experiences are available. Lunch is not included in the price. Activity fees are included in the tour but NOT the shipping fee for your Bizen ware piece(s). Be aware that you will need to pay the shipping fees on the day. They are usually not too expensive but they do vary depending on the country. Many places in Imbe may be cash-only for shopping. Please let us know in advance about any dietary restrictions. You may bring your own interpreter at no additional cost, as a non-participant guest. At least one adult must be present for groups with children.
Seller's Cancellation/Refund Policy
More than 30 days before the experience: The experience price is refundable. The 10% Bottlecap Platform Fee is non-refundable. 30 days or less before the experience: The reservation is non-refundable. This policy helps protect providers who may incur material, workspace, staffing, or preparation costs in advance. If the provider cancels: Amounts paid, including the Platform Fee, will be refunded less any non-recoverable card-processing fees already incurred.
