Terms of Service

Updated: August 19, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of bottlecap.jp and services provided by TANGLE Inc., operating Bottlecap as a TANGLE brand ("Bottlecap," "we," "us," or "our").

By accessing or using Bottlecap, creating an account, or submitting a Reservation Request, you agree to these Terms.

1. Use of Bottlecap

You agree to use Bottlecap in a lawful manner and not to interfere with, disrupt, damage, or misuse our website, accounts, payment systems, or services.

You are responsible for providing accurate and current information when creating an account, submitting an inquiry, or requesting a reservation.

2. User Accounts

Certain Bottlecap features, including Reservation Requests, may require a user account.

You are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of your account information and for protecting access to your account.

You may not use another person's account without authorization or provide false or misleading information when creating or using an account.

3. Experience Providers

Workshops, tours, educational experiences, and other services featured on Bottlecap are generally performed by independent third-party experience providers.

Bottlecap may provide technology, reservation services, payment processing, customer communications, marketing, and other support associated with a reservation.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Bottlecap is not the artisan, instructor, guide, venue, or other provider performing the underlying experience.

4. Types of Listings on Bottlecap

Bottlecap includes both listings that can be requested through Bottlecap and informational listings that direct users to third-party providers.

Bottlecap Reservation Request Listings

A listing displaying Bottlecap's Reservation Request functionality allows a customer to request a reservation through Bottlecap.

Reservations made through these pages are subject to Bottlecap's payment, cancellation, and refund provisions described in these Terms.

External or Provider-Direct Listings

Some Bottlecap listings do not offer Bottlecap Reservation Requests.

These listings may provide information supplied by the provider, including the provider's stated prices, availability, cancellation rules, or refund policies, and may link to an external website where the customer can make a reservation directly.

If you leave Bottlecap to make a booking with a provider or third-party booking service, your transaction is with that provider or service.

The applicable provider's or third-party service's terms, payment rules, cancellation policy, refund policy, and privacy practices apply.

Bottlecap's Reservation Request cancellation and refund policy does not apply to an externally completed transaction.

5. Reservation Requests

Selecting a desired date and submitting a Reservation Request does not itself create a confirmed reservation.

The applicable experience provider must first accept the request.

The provider has up to 6 days from the date the Reservation Request is submitted to accept or decline the request.

If the provider accepts the request within that period, Bottlecap will notify the customer using the contact information associated with the customer's account or reservation.

If the provider declines the request, or does not accept it within 6 days, the Reservation Request will automatically expire and be canceled.

No reservation charge will be collected for a request that expires or is declined before payment has been collected.

Availability may change during the request period. Submission of a Reservation Request should therefore not be understood as confirmation that the requested experience will take place.

6. Prices and Taxes

Prices shown on Bottlecap Reservation Request listings include applicable Japanese consumption tax unless expressly stated otherwise.

A 10% Bottlecap Platform Fee is added to reservations made through Bottlecap.

The Platform Fee and applicable reservation total will be disclosed before the customer submits the Reservation Request.

7. Platform Fee

Bottlecap charges customers a 10% Platform Fee on reservations made through Bottlecap Reservation Request pages.

The Platform Fee helps cover payment-processing costs and Bottlecap programs supporting Japan's craft artisans.

The Platform Fee is non-refundable when a reservation is canceled by the customer.

If the experience provider cancels an accepted reservation, amounts refunded to the customer will include the Platform Fee, less any non-recoverable card-processing fees already incurred in connection with the transaction.

8. Payment Authorization

When submitting a Reservation Request, you agree to provide a valid payment method when required.

Depending on how far in advance the requested experience is scheduled, your payment method may be collected and securely saved by Bottlecap's payment-processing provider for a later charge.

By submitting a Reservation Request that requires a saved payment method, you authorize Bottlecap and its payment-processing provider to retain that payment method for the purpose of processing the requested reservation.

If the provider accepts your Reservation Request, you also authorize the applicable reservation amount and Bottlecap Platform Fee to be charged according to the payment schedule disclosed during the Reservation Request process and described below.

Payment information may be processed and stored by third-party payment providers, including Stripe.

9. Payment Timing

Requests More Than 90 Days Before the Experience

If your requested experience date is more than 90 days in the future, your payment method may be collected and securely saved without an immediate charge.

The experience provider then has up to 6 days to accept or decline your Reservation Request.

If the provider accepts the request, Bottlecap will notify you that your Reservation Request has been accepted.

Acceptance does not necessarily result in an immediate charge.

Once the scheduled experience is within approximately 88 days, Bottlecap's payment system will attempt to charge the saved payment method for the applicable reservation price and 10% Platform Fee.

Bottlecap will notify you when payment has been successfully collected.

If the provider declines your request or does not accept it within 6 days, the Reservation Request will automatically be canceled and no reservation payment will be collected.

Requests Within 90 Days of the Experience

If your requested experience date is 90 days or less in the future, the experience provider has up to 6 days to accept or decline the Reservation Request.

If the provider accepts the request, your payment method may be charged for the applicable reservation price and Platform Fee upon or shortly after acceptance.

Bottlecap will notify you when your Reservation Request has been accepted and when payment has been successfully collected.

If the provider declines your request or does not accept it within 6 days, the Reservation Request will automatically be canceled and no reservation payment will be collected.

10. Customer Cancellations and Refunds

These cancellation provisions apply only to reservations made through Bottlecap Reservation Request pages.

More Than 30 Days Before the Experience

If you cancel more than 30 days before the scheduled experience date, the reservation price is refundable.

The 10% Bottlecap Platform Fee is non-refundable.

30 Days or Less Before the Experience

If you cancel when the scheduled experience is 30 days or less away, the reservation is non-refundable.

Neither the reservation price nor the Platform Fee will be refunded.

This cancellation period exists in part because experience providers may purchase materials, reserve workspace, arrange staffing, decline other reservations, or otherwise incur costs while preparing for an experience.

11. Provider Cancellations

Experience providers may occasionally need to cancel an accepted reservation.

If the experience provider cancels an accepted reservation, Bottlecap will refund amounts paid by the customer, including the Bottlecap Platform Fee, less any non-recoverable card-processing fees already incurred in connection with the transaction.

Bottlecap will notify affected customers using the contact information associated with the reservation.

12. Changes and Rescheduling

Customers may request changes to an existing reservation, including changes to a requested date, participant count, or other reservation details.

Changes are subject to provider availability and are not guaranteed.

Any revised arrangements accepted by both the customer and provider may become part of the reservation.

13. Customer Responsibilities

You are responsible for reviewing information provided on the applicable listing and in your reservation communications, including meeting locations, start times, participation requirements, age restrictions, accessibility information, clothing requirements, and other instructions.

You are responsible for arriving at the agreed location at the appropriate time and complying with reasonable instructions given by the experience provider.

14. Content and Accuracy

Bottlecap works to provide accurate information about Japanese crafts, artisans, experiences, and educational opportunities.

Some listing information originates from independent providers and may change.

Bottlecap does not guarantee that every item of third-party information will always be complete, current, or error-free, although we may correct information brought to our attention.

15. External Websites

Bottlecap may contain links to external websites and third-party booking services.

Bottlecap is not responsible for the content, availability, security, privacy practices, or policies of independent external websites.

Some external links may be affiliate links. TANGLE Inc. may receive a commission when qualifying transactions occur without adding an additional charge to the user.

16. Intellectual Property

Content created by Bottlecap is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Certain photographs, descriptions, trademarks, artwork, and other content appearing on individual listings may belong to experience providers, artisans, photographers, or other rights holders and may be displayed with permission or for authorized informational purposes.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially reuse protected content without authorization from the applicable rights holder.

17. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Bottlecap is not responsible for losses arising solely from the acts or omissions of independent third-party experience providers or external websites.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.

18. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy.

By using features requiring personal information or payment processing, you acknowledge that information may be processed by service providers necessary to operate Bottlecap, maintain accounts, process Reservation Requests, process payments, and communicate with you.

19. Changes to These Terms

Bottlecap may update these Terms from time to time.

Material changes will apply prospectively as required by applicable law.

The Terms applicable to an existing paid reservation will not be changed retroactively in a manner that removes rights already granted to the customer for that reservation, except where required by law.
