This is a private, full-day guided tour for groups of 2-4 people. Schedule: 9:15–9:45 AM – Meet your local guide, Yuko, in Nikko. Pick-up is available from JR Nikko Station, Tobu-Nikko Station, or hotels in Nikko City. 10:00 AM – Private Nikko Geta Artisan Experience Meet Yamamoto-san, the last full-time Nikko Geta artisans carrying on this unique local tradition. • Learn about the history and cultural significance of Nikko Geta • Watch a traditional craftsmanship demonstration • Try weaving a miniature Nikko Geta using traditional techniques 12:00 PM – Yuba Lunch Enjoy yuba (tofu skin), one of Nikko’s traditional local specialties, bento box lunch. 1:00 PM – Nikko Tamozawa Imperial Villa Explore this beautiful historic villa and its manicured Japanese gardens 2:30 PM – Coffee Break at a Local Café (optional) 3:00 PM – Nikko World Heritage Area Walking Tour Discover Nikko’s UNESCO World Heritage area and learn about its history, culture, and local stories. 5:00 PM – Tour Ends Drop-off at-Nikko Station or your hotel in the central Nikko area.

Reservations are subject to the availability of the artisan and venue. Solo travelers are welcome, however please note that this experience has a minimum tour price of 2 guests (¥48,000), therefore a solo traveler should select two (2) participants when requesting. In such cases, we may combine solo travelers who are also interested in the same date. Recommended for ages 12 and above. Younger children may participate upon request; please notify us in advance. Partially accessible. Accessibility varies by venue, and the World Heritage walking portion includes uneven surfaces and some steps. Please contact us in advance so we can discuss individual accessibility needs and adjust the itinerary where possible. Interpreters for languages other than Japanese and English allowed to attend guests at no additional participation cost, but must be provided for by the guests themselves. When reserving, please provide the names of all participants, any dietary restrictions or allergies, and any mobility or accessibility needs. Not included: Transportation to and from Nikko, café drinks, additional food or drinks, and personal purchases are not included. The World Heritage Walking Tour explores the historic area from the outside and does not include admission to the shrines and temples that require entrance fees.

More than 30 days before the experience: The experience price is refundable. The 10% Bottlecap Platform Fee is non-refundable. 30 days or less before the experience: The reservation is non-refundable. This policy helps protect providers who may incur material, workspace, staffing, or preparation costs in advance. If the provider cancels: Amounts paid, including the Platform Fee, will be refunded less any non-recoverable card-processing fees already incurred.
