More Details

Nikko carving is a traditional craft with a history of approximately 400 years, originating from the reconstruction of Toshogu Shrine. Experiencing Nikko carving while sharpening your senses in conjunction with a visit to Toshogu Shrine will lead to a deeper understanding of Nikko. Furthermore, the experience involves using a unique carving tool called a "hikkaki," and you can take your carved work home as a souvenir, making it a precious memory of Nikko. Choose from a hand mirror, nameplate, or photo frame (each available in 2 colors). You can choose from designs such as sleeping cats, the three monkeys, dragons, and flowers. You can also design and create your own.
