Umaji Village is a tiny village with a population of about 800 people, nestled deep in the mountains of Kochi Prefecture . Surrounded by towering peaks, it is home to vibrant villagers. There are no traffic lights or convenience stores, but it is filled with smiles and abundant nature. Why not experience a life in harmony with nature in this village where time flows slowly? The Yuzu no Mori Processing Plant of the Umaji Village Agricultural Cooperative, which produces the famous Umaji Village yuzu products "Ponzu Soy Sauce Yuzu no Mura" and "Gokkun Umaji Mura" is open for free tours at any time. The yuzu grown without pesticides are used in their entirety, from the peel to the juice. During the harvest season, when the scent of yuzu fills the entire village, the "Yuzu Begins Festival" is held every year, attracting many visitors from both within and outside the prefecture. Umaji has a lot to offer and you can even stay at an onsen or campground if you like. Umaji Village is also famous as a cedar producing area. You can handmake and take home your own bento box, which has a subtle woody scent, using high-quality cedar.
