Wakayama Farm is a three-generation farmer, with 24 hectares land, dedicated to harvesting bamboo shoots and chestnuts by the circular-agricultural method. Wakayama Farm is the largest and the only bamboo nursery in Japan with over 100 years of experience. The history of Wakayama Farm dates back to about 350 years ago when the Wakayama family’s ancestors first settled in this land and cultivated the vast wild forest. For centuries the Wakayama Family has cultivated many different crops. Today they mainly focus on chestnuts and bamboo, in July-August they also have blueberry picking. Enjoy a peaceful stroll through lush bamboo groves, including illuminated night walks on weekends and holidays. On those days, you can also experience traditional matcha served in bamboo cups. Throughout the year, they host a variety of seasonal activities such as bamboo crafting workshops and special events for all to enjoy. Each experience ranges in price starting at 550.
