More Details

The process is more delicate than it may appear, but the joy of completing a sheet with your own hands becomes a truly memorable experience. There is also a Washi Museum at this location, Ozu Washi has been in business since 1653 making it one of the oldest running businesses in Japan. The A4 sized washi you make is dried during the workshop, so you can peel it off yourself and take it home on the same day. If there are open spots on the day, you can join without a reservation, but we recommend making a booking in advance. The workshop is about 45 minutes long. After a brief explanation of the process, each participant will make one sheet of washi. We warmly welcome individuals, so please feel free to join on your own. For groups of fewer than 4 participants, the session may be shared with other guests. We also offer colored (1,200), lace (1,200), design (1,500) and private (6,000) Washi workshops.
