There are a total of 1,768 possible combinations of parts with different colors and shapes. This is a plan for crafting a miniature Samurai helmet at Okoshi Chu Mfg., Inc. in Koshigaya City, Saitama Prefecture. When talking about Japanese history, armors (body armor and helmets) are an absolutely essential part of this story. They also represent the wish for children to grow up strong and healthy, like valiant warriors. The helmets have long been cherished by the Japanese not only as a beautiful work of art, but also as a gift symbolizing hope for children to grow healthily and as a talisman for good fortune. Some 80 years have passed since Okoshi Chu Mfg., Inc. was founded. Through this activity of doing traditional helmet crafting that has been passed down through three generations, experience the sentiments Japanese people have for the helmets. In this activity, you will experience of crafting a miniature Samurai helmet, including Odoshi, the work of threading Shikoro, a part of neck guard, and lavishly decorating the helmet. There are a total of 1,768 possible combinations of parts with different colors and shapes. Create a beautiful and valiant Samurai helmet with your own original design that looks just like the kind of the one a military commander heading into battles would have worn.
