Japanese printmaker Masato Nagai breaks down this unique tradition into easy steps in a fun workshop designed for beginners. Learn the traditional techniques and modern application of this fascinating craft. Design your own image or use some supplied books inspired images! Participants will learn image transfer, block carving, paper preparation and proofing. Water-based and non-toxic, Japanese woodblock printing is an exciting way to gain an insight into traditional Ukiyo-e prints. No experience is necessary and all tools and materials are provided. Participant numbers are kept small to ensure lots of teacher attention. Take home a carved block to display and an edition of prints to impress your friends! Saturday & Sunday from 1:PM-3:PM * Only 4 people per a day available
