Wheel & Hand-building Pottery Course (Uzumako Ceramic Art School)

This pottery workshop experience is suitable for beginners and people who would like to make their favorite tableware, like a small bowl, cup, plate and so on.

We also offer a wheel spun class, as well as a hand sculpted class.

More Details

We will teach and help you to use the electric wheel, then also make some simple hand-builded forms within 1 hour. You can then choose which of the works you would like to keep and decide the desired glazes (color) from 15 glazes. Kids courses, private lessons, and multi-session courses are also available.

Additional Terms and Limitations

It will take 3 weeks at most to trim, fire, glaze and fire the works again. We will contact you immediately after the final firing. We can provide some small plaster molds and patterns to help you make the form. You can keep any of your works to be fired, and each will incur a firing fee. If you are visiting Japan as a traveler we recommend taking the pottery class at the beginning of your trip, as it takes 3-4 weeks for the works to be complete. Shipping is available at an extra cost. We also offer memberships for continued lessons! -English Classes are Tuesday ​/​ Thursday ​/​ Saturday ​/​ Sunday -We accept Japanese Yen and VISA, MasterCard and American Express credit cards. -If you would like to keep your works and fire them then a firing fee is required.The firing fee varies according the the size of your works.
