More Details
Work shop time : about 150 min~ An Origami lamp is created by folding and gluing together several sheets of handmade washi paper in a bellows-like manner. Inserting a small lamp inside the bellows-like washi paper, the ramp shines with gentle and warm light. When you close the bellows shape, the shape will look like a closed book. Additionally, you will create a mizuhiki knot (paper strings) ornament for the belt. At the end, you will have your one and only Origami lamp. At the end of the session, we offer Japanese sweets with "Japanese paper tea" that is not offered elsewhere! “Mizuhiki” is a traditional paper cord, with a core of twisted washi paper, wrapped by nylon or film, making it a very decorative cord. Did you know each knot has meanings? Knowing the meaning of knots makes them perfect for gifts. Because washi is light and durable, it is perfect for art pieces and interior decor. Let’s learn about the Japanese traditional crafts and its skills to create your own original art piece. While your paper is drying, we offer our original "Japanese paper tea" along with local Japanese sweets. We make tea from Kozo leaves, which are the raw material for making paper, and the sweets are sourced from a beloved local shop.
