Reservations can be made until 6pm the day before. Big groups and families are welcome. The indigo dye is contained in a large 900 liter (237 gal) pot that is 160 cm (5.2 ft) deep. In spring and summer, you can also enjoy the scenery of the indigo farms nearby, and observe the making of sukumo (fermented indigo) in autumn and winter. Immerse yourself in the beauty and history of Awa indigo! – Visit to indigo farms (April – November) or watching sukumo making (October – February) – Choice of material, designing patterns, dyeing and washing – Your finished artwork will be wet and we’ll put it in a plastic bag to take home.
